Abstract | Article demonstrates an engineering approach for protection of buildings and structures from vibration. The approach uses passive multi-resonant (or multi-frequency) dynamic dampers for efficient reduction of vibration levels related to several resonances of the structures. Model problems are used to demonstrate the resulting reduction of the dynamic response of the protected structure’s vibrationally active zones to the kinematic (seismic) and power (wind, technological origin) spatial excitation. |
